The Crisis

Overdoses fueled by fentanyl-laced drugs have been skyrocketing in Central Florida and around the country for the past several years. Overdose deaths among those aged 14-24 has risen 133% since 2020. WTF! Why?

Today’s children, teens, and young adults aren’t dealing with the same risks as previous generations. The substances we see today are much more unpredictable and dangerous.  What was once an innocent night of experimentation could turn into a fatal overdose today.

WHAT’S THE FIX FOR THE OVERDOSE CRISIS?

Bottom line: too many young Central Floridians are dying of overdoses.

@WTFWhatstheFix was created to ask questions about this crisis and demand action! We need parents, young people, and community leaders to understand the deadly nature of today’s street drugs. The risk isn't the same as it was 20, 10, or even 5 years ago!

We need authentic and candid discussion across all generations. Our futures are at stake.

We know what leads people to drugs and we know that fentanyl is the high fructose corn syrup of the drug scene.

We need leaders to commit to bold change. We need to expand and empower community-level prevention and treatment.

We need solutions NOW.

We need to end these needless, tragic deaths NOW.
